A super place to visit and live
Date: Nov 27, 2009
Entry: The jewell of the the Okanagan. This great little big town is the perfect family place. We have enjoyed the amenities of Summerland and its friendly folks for over 30 years. We continue to come back year after year even though our children have grown up and left. The facilities are 1st class from the indoor pool, business centre and of coures the famous steam train. We love the golfing too. With few exception the people who live there are like 'good neighbours' friendly, helpful and make you feel like you belong. We'll be back - again.

Mayor's Message
Date: Nov 4, 2009
Entry: Summerland is excited about the 2010 Olympics - even more so since we have our own two Olympic hopefuls Justin Kripps (bobsled) and Kristi Richards (freestyle skiing).
I encourage everyone to get in the spirit, get moving and get active! There is so much to do in Summerland! We are lucky to have wonderful opportunities for biking, hiking, walking, running, swimming and participating in the many sports available to us.
We wish all of the athletes the best of luck; but of course we will all be cheering extra loud for our own local favorites!

Summerland takes Advantage of Olympic Exposure
Date: Oct 30, 2009
Entry: The District of Summerland is preparing for tourists visiting during the Olympics and after as a result of Olympic exposure. Summerland is hoping to participate in the O ZONE project in Richmond BC, which is an official Olympic Live Site. This event would allow Summerland to showcase itself to the world in partnership with other South Okanagan-Similkameen communities and the Regional District.
Closer to home, the District has provided new signage to welcome visitors to the community and guide them on their journey thru the community. There are new welcome signs at the entrances to town, along with new directional signage and special signs for attractions like the Kettle Valley Railway, local wineries and the golf course. We look forward to hosting visitors from all over the world.
