Entry: Barrett Lake is a great lake to go Ice fishing. The kids love to come and try out their luck. If they get bored of fishing - they can take the quads out and pull each other on the GT's!

Entry: When we don't feel like driving the fifteen minutes to the excellent cross country ski trails on Buck Flats Road, well we just snap into our skis right outside our door and break our own trails. Great exercise and the car stays in the garage!

Entry: our small town raised an astonishing $100,000 plus for the Cancer Relay for Life, now that's what I call generous! I'm proud to call Houston my home and be a part of such a caring "family" We deserve to get a little generosity back. Go Gamestown 2010!!!

Entry: This one year - it snowed so much overnight that a lot of people couldn't get to work. On the upside - it made great snowforts in your front lawn! We even made a slide that went to the bottom of the driveway!

GTing at the Microwave

Entry: A lot of families take their kids to the Microwave to GT. A truck takes all of the kids to the top and kids and moms and dads all get to go down on the road and side cuts. Of course there are the occasional wipe outs!

the outdoor activities in the winter are fantastic. theres snowmobiling, ice fishing, hockey, and the list goes on. the other big thing is that our whole town supports all the sports that go on in houston.

Entry: I am 7 and have lived in Houston my whole life. In the winter I play ringette and love all my friends and coaches. Houston is my favourite place in the whole world. I want to play ringette in the olympics when I get older they should have it in the olympics.

Entry: What a great competition this has been! It certainly has brought out the want to be number 1! Hopefully Houston does win gold, but regardless of the outcome of this particular contest, Houston has already come out a winner, all of us now more than ever realize that the recreational opportunities provided here are number 1! We are lucky to live in a place that cares so much about the health and welfare of it's residents. Thanks ActNow BC for the competition! BC is definitely the Best Place on Earth!

Entry: I was driving home today listening to CJFW the local country station when My Town by Montgomery Gentry started playing ...it made me feel so proud of my town! Wow! Houston we have really pulled together for this one, I've never been prouder to say this is MY TOWN! What great team spirit we have!
