Our Lovely Snowman

Entry: The snow came and was perfect for building our snowman friend, BUT the next day, the rain destroyed him. The kids were pretty sad. They got over it though when I assured them that yes there will be more snow this winter and we will build more snow men. (Maybe I shouldn't have promised that, -20 is not snowman building weather)!!!!

Entry: Before its name was changed to Houston, this area was called the Pleasant Valley. Looking at these pictures as you head west into town, it truly is a Pleasant Valley, and a wonderful place to have grown up, and to have come home to after many years away!! This view has always made me feel, "Welcome Home!" (Morice Mountain stands in the background)

Entry: Houston has been my home for 38 yrs., I can't imagine living anywhere else. A place where you can walk down the street and meet someone you know...they wave "hello", or call out to you by name to ask how you & your family are. We are a very tight knit community and know that we can depend on each other for support.......no matter what....not something you find very often.
Houston B.C.....where the welcome is warm...so very warm...and the wilderness not only beckons....it takes hold of you. I am proud to call this community my home.

Why I love Houston

Entry: I grew up in Houston and love to visit there. Houston is near to my heart. The people and the surrounding areas makes it a great place to visit. Recently I was in the hospital and the Houston Volunteer Fire Department surprised me by sending a beautiful floral arrangement. What other place would do that for an ex-volunteer firefighter and one who does not even live in the town anymore. I hope to visit again this summer and meet up up with all the old timers! Greatness comes in small packages!!!!
