It's all about Friends
Date: Nov 21, 2009
Entry: I and my family moved from Ontario to Clinton in 1995. One of the first things that attracted us here was the friendly nature of the community. Since then we have enjoyed volunteering in many events and organizations. It is our way of giving back to the community that welcomed us so openly. For a small community there are so many things to do here. The winter is especially fun for skating, curling, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, bird watching and so much more. It will be fun to see the community members coming together in our Memorial Hall in February to watch the Olympics. I am especially lookinig forward to that. It will be like having a large extended family watching the Olympics together. This community is very sports-orientated all year round and we look forward to being named GamesTown 2010.

why I love my Community
Date: Nov 5, 2009
Entry: We have lived in Clinton for 13 years. When we first came to town we got involved in many committees and had such a wonderful experience doing so. We have seen much growth since we moved here. Our arena has become a meeting place for the young and old alike, I've loved being able to take my granddaughter skating with me there !!! Our Community Hall has just been renovated and I am so looking forward to spending much of my time going there to watch the Olympic games. I can't imagine a more community spirited event !! I love my community, it is and always has been everything I have looked for, it is SMALL TOWN CANADA !!!!!!!!! The growth that we have seen in our community is due to the dedication of the people who live and volunteer here. We have our ups and downs, like any other small town, but the people in our town always get involved in making sure this is a great place to live. The people that live here are warm, friendly and great ambassadors for our small town. So, if your looking for my family and come February, we'll be at the Community Hall watching the games , hopefully calling Clinton GamesTown 2010 !!!

Our Love For A Small Town
Date: Jun 25, 2009
Entry: When we first moved to Clinton late in 2008 we were not sure what to expect & what we found was a small town that we have grown to love. The residents of Clinton are all very outgoing & supportive of the community. Everyone does their share of volunteer work to make our community an excellent place to live. Thanks to the volunteers we are also able to enjoy sports such as hockey, soccer, softball, curling and more. Below is a letter that we had written to the local newspaper when we first arrived, our feelings have not changed only grown stronger and since then we have volunteered for 4 different committees.
We are proud to be residents of Clinton
When we decided to move to Clinton we had no idea what a treasure this small town truly is! As a RCMP family you never know how you will be accepted into a community. From the moment we arrived, everyone has welcomed us with open arms and gone out of their way to make us feel right at home. These people are dedicated and compassionate about keeping our great little town such a safe place to live.
Right off the bat we were extremely impressed with the variety of activities for our two young children. Preschool, StrongStart, Healthy Beginnings, PALS, and Hockey were all available to us in our previous city but not with the same personal touch that we have experienced here. Never before have we felt such community spirit as we did with this years Children's Christmas Party. A special thank you to all the volunteers for their hard work and dedication for this and every event; it’s due to your determination that memorable occasions such as these, become a reality for us all to cherish. Please know that your efforts do not go unnoticed! We look forward not only to the next event but hopefully also being able to provide some kind of assistance.
Since we've arrived, we have discovered the sport of Curling. We strongly encourage everyone to consider joining because it is so much fun and a really good workout as well. He was under the impression that Curling was for “old people” but soon realized that Curling is harder on the body then hockey! As much as we enjoy curling, our highlight of the week is when he is coaching hockey. He loves getting to know all of the children and looks forward to being able to offer more in the future. Hockey has always been a part of his life; he has a strong passion and knowledge for the game. Every week he can not wait to pass on new skills and techniques to the budding hockey stars in Clinton.
In closing we would just like to thank everyone for making us feel like we belong here, in Clinton. He and I are looking forward to experiencing all this hidden gem of a town has to offer and are eager to discover how we can contribute to our new hometown.
Thank you to all the residents of Clinton.

Clinton "Welcomes the World" in 2010
Date: Apr 24, 2009
Entry: The Village of Clinton has recently received funding to upgrade the Memorial Hall (a Heritage Building built in 1921 by volunteers for fallen veterans) in 2009. One part of the project will see the installation of new sound system equipment, a large video projector screen and televison receiver. For 17 days in February the Memorial Hall will be open to everyone to come (with their own chair if they want) and watch the 2010 Olympic/Paralympic Winter Games. Clinton is a small town with a huge heart and sports is a large part of the social life in the area. A $600,000 upgrade to the Arena/Curling Rink in 2006 enabled the natural ice to be replaced with a new refrigerated glycol system and concrete floor. New chillers were installed in the Curling Rink (as a part of this project) which gave the Curling Club new life. Winter may be long and cold in Clinton, but Hockey, Curling and X-Country skiing keep many people active and busy.
