It's where we live

Entry: I moved to Castlegar over a decade ago from Big City Alberta and couldn't be happier than I am here. There are so many biking and walking trails, as well as places to boat and fish, this is definately a place to spend your time outdoors. The skiing is amazing (both downhill and cross country) and there is always something to do. You'll only really understand once you are here. It'll only take a second to convince you that this is where natural perfection began.

Why I love Castlegar

Entry: I love Castlegar because theres so much to do and so much to see. Like swimming,skating and dancing. I'm a swimmer and I'm in level 8. It's just somthing every one can enjoy. I like skating. If you haven't tried it then just do it. You never know, you may like it!

Entry: I think that Castlegar is the best one to win because we are very kind,we love for people to came to our city plus we celebrate every holiday.Castlegar has just the right weather for running in spring, for winter we get a lot of snow so sledding is so much fun,in summer we like to go swimming,in fall we love jumping in leaves.It's so pretty in the fall all the leaves are a pretty brown color that stays that way until winter. I love Castlegar its so pretty and all the people are so nice.And that's way I think that Castlegar should win!

Entry: I love Castlegar! I also love skating because it keeps me busy. My dog and I have so much fun and I take him for long walks every day. There are lots of places to ride bikes in Castlegar and I also love helping my Dad cut the lawn. Castlegar is a great place to be active and they keep it clean and healthy!

Entry: I like playing the drums,swimming,horse back riding,biking,soccer,hiking,walking the dogs,jumping on a trampoline,going for long walks,runs,sleding,running away from my dogs,and my very best of all is gymnastics!!All of this stuff keeps me active and healthy.I think every one should be like this to <3

Having Fun In Castlegar

Entry: My way of keeping fit is to jump on my trampoline, I ride my bike, I really enjoy Taekwondo and I am yellow belt. I also play baseball. It is alot of fun! I go on hikes and I love to hike. I down hill ski and can ski the top of the mountain. I don't think we are going to the olympics because the tickets are too expensive. We will have to watch on TV.

Entry: I am a competative dancer and I train in ballet, jazz, musical theatre, song and dance, lyrical and pointe. I also have a little bit of training in hip hop. I think dancing is a good way to keep healthy, stay fit and have fun!

Jewel of the Kootenays

Entry: Castlegar is truly the jewel of the Kootenays. Residents can enjoy the many rivers and lakes nearby, as well as the many small cottage communities situated on the Arrow Lakes like the beautiful little community of Renata. We may live in Castlegar, but from May to October, we live on Arrow Lakes enjoying boating, fishing and exploring.

Entry: I moved to Castlegar from Las Vegas to get away from it all. It is an amazing place to live. I often go hiking and look for local wildlife. I also have done more fishing since I've been here than I had previously done in my whole life. Castlegar is central to everything a person could ever want,skiing,hotsprings,hiking,water sports,fishing, hunting,quadding, skidooing,you name it, its here!Castlegar is truly is the best place on earth!

Tumble into Castlegar

Entry: She is a 12 yr old gymnast living in Castlegar. She has moved rapidly through pre competition to provincial one and provincial two streams. Currently she competes as a provincial two tyro gymnast and has been in two meets this year placing all round top three in both meets. She has two meets coming up, in the second meet she will compete as a high level one. This meet attracts over 300 gymnasts from as far away as Ontario. Last year she placed overall 8th. Next year she will be eligible to go to the high school stream which has a different set of competitions including our own provincial championships as well as gymnastics BC stream. Tumble into Castlegar for healthy balanced living.
