2010 my games
Date: Jan 22, 2010
Entry: Hi my name is Dave Hutton and I have lived in Campbell River for 40 yrs ( all my life ) where I worked for Catalyst Paper for 22 yrs before they shut down. We love Campbell River so much that we don't want to leave the community and are doing all we can to stay here. I am a volunteer firefighter for the city here and a volunteer ski patroller for Mt. Washington. I love to help people and love to help our community. I recently applied to be a firefighter for the Olympics and was lucky enough to be chosen. So on Feb 26th I will be going to Whistler to support the games and look after the Olympic venues in Whistler and represent Campbell River as a Firefighter for the 2010 Olympics.I thank you so much for the chance to tell my story and for the support of our great city Campbell River the real Olympic city.

Date: Mar 27, 2009
Entry: The Campbell River Spirit Walk was held on Thursday, February, 12th, 2009. This walk was a community celebration to promote the 1 year countdown to the 2010 Olympic Games.
The walk began at the City of Campbell River’s Council Chambers with a presentation by the Mayor / Chair of SOBC. We walked to the local Tidemark Theatre where we were welcomed with Spirit Swag, decorations, healthy refreshments and the ability for guests to have their photo with the “Spirit of the River” torch.
